Study Room privacy policy

Updated 30 October 2026

In short

Study Room has no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and it does not track you. We do not ask for your name, e-mail address or phone number.

What stays on your phone

Your chats with the tutor, the notes you save, the photos you attach to a question, your progress and your plan are stored only on your phone. We never receive a copy. Deleting the app deletes them.

The tutor (Anthropic)

When you ask the tutor something, the app sends your question, the parts of the subject's notes it needs, and any photo you attached to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI model, so that it can write an answer. The request proves that it comes from a genuine copy of this app (Apple App Attest); there is no account or user id. We do not keep these requests on our servers. Anthropic handles them under its own terms and privacy policy. Do not put anyone's personal details, such as a full name, address or school, into a question or a photo.

Private groups

When you join a group with a code, our server makes a random token for your phone and stores a hash of it, the group you joined and the time. That is all it holds about you: it has no name, e-mail address, device identifier or location. The group's owner can see how many people joined, not who they are. We do not keep IP addresses or access logs for this service. Choosing “Leave my groups” in the app revokes the token and removes you from the groups; the subjects they gave you are deleted from your phone.

Children

The app is meant for students using it with a parent's or teacher's invitation. It does not collect personal information from anyone. A parent or guardian can remove the app, or leave the groups, at any time.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be on this page with a new date.
